company doctors force you back to work

We Can Stop the Company Doctors From Pushing You Back to Work After a Work Injury

Company doctors and "Occupational Health" medical providers, known in workers compensation as "panel doctors" -- as well as "IME" doctors -- all work with your employer's workers' compensation insurance company to downplay your work injury. Many "panel providers" actually make it a policy to never fully excuse any worker from work, no matter how serious the work injury or what type of job is involved. They may try to push you back to work when you are not ready, while you are clearly still injured, even if it will make your injuries worse or entirely prevent you from recovering, all in the name of reducing your employer's liability. Your employer may or may not honor your "light duty" restrictions, and may treat you very unfairly when you can't do you your full job. You need our help, right now. There is a lot we can do for you, including:

  • Immediate analysis of your case to determine if you are bound to treat with "company" doctors. In many cases, you are NOT.

  • Referrals to sympathetic doctors outside the influence of the insurance company or employer, to participate in your medical treatment, even within "the first ninety days" after your injury.

  • Simple advice regarding all options available under the circumstances of your specific case to overcome the problems created by company doctors more concerned with pleasing your employer than with providing competent medical care.

The "way things work" in workers' compensation is not as simple as your employer, the company doctors or the insurance adjuster will try to claim. You have rights after a work injury, and your employer has obligations. When you are sent to a company-referred doctor, your employer is not just concerned about controlling the billing -- they want to control how the doctors document your injury.  A major tendon injury becomes a "strain".  A life-affecting, career-ending spine injury is called a "sprain". A joint injury that warrants surgery and requires long-term rehabilitation is referred to as a "contusion" -- all because the employer's occupational health doctors know how to manipulate your case.

Before jumping through your employer's hoops regarding where and when to get your medical treatment, call us, so we can explore whether the employer has jumped through its own hoops, first.
